Falling in Line by Kasey Stockton: Book Review

*Book received for consideration. All thoughts are my own.

Break my heart once, shame on you. Break my heart twice? Nope. Not gonna let that happen.

Tucker’s heart was broken, stomped on, chewed up and spit back out. But that was five years ago. He’s had time and space to come to terms with being left behind, to heal his heart.

It’s helped that June has stayed away from Arcadia Creek.

Except now . . . she’s back.

She says she's here to stay. But old wounds don't heal as smoothly the second time.

And Tucker isn't about to trust June again.

No matter how hard she tries.

Drawn to the Regency period at a young age when gifted a copy of Sense and Sensibility by her grandmother, Kasey initially began writing Regency romances. She has since published in a variety of genres, but all of her titles fall under clean romance. She is an equal opportunity addict when it comes to Coke, Dr. Pepper, chocolate, and period dramas. A native of northern California, she now resides in Texas with her own prince charming, their three children, and a sassy goldendoodle.

Falling in Line is the second book in the Arcadia Creek series. While you'll see some familiar characters if you've read the previous book, this could certainly be enjoyed as a standalone with no issues as well.

I absolutely adore a good second chance romance... and this was a GREAT one! After leaving Arcadia Creek years before with no explanation, June returns to help her dad... and finds herself face to face with Tucker... the man she left behind. Despite their rocky history, I really just adored these two! They had a lot to work through, yes... but it made me root for their happily ever after all that much more. Their chemistry was fantastic, and I just couldn't get enough of them together. The story addresses abandonment and depression, but it's balanced very well with humor and those romantic moments.

The town of Arcadia Creek also won me over--- both with its issues and
strengths and I find myself looking forward to more stories in this sweet small town. I absolutely cannot wait for the next book in the series!

Falling in Line is a closed-door romance with kisses only and no language.
