More Than a Helping Hand by Remi Carrington: Book Review

*Book received for consideration. All thoughts are my own.

A cowboy. A cactus. And my eight-year-old daughter.

That’s how I end up having dinner with the hottest guy I’ve ever laid eyes on.

My relationship history is a trail of horrible mistakes. Well, two, but they were really big. Now I’m a single mom, and I have no plans to date. But since my daughter has decided that Anderson is the best thing since sliced bread, I feel the need to spend time with him to know if he’s a good guy.

One dinner turns into two, and he helps me move. Then I kiss him. One kiss turns into two, and I agree to date him as long as we keep it a secret because I don’t want my daughter to know (or be disappointed if I find I’ve made another mistake).

But keeping secrets in a small town isn’t always easy to do.

Remi Carrington is the figment of Pamela Humphrey's imagination. She loves romance & chocolate, enjoys disappearing into a delicious book, and considers people-watching a sport. She was born in the pages of the novel Just You and then grew into an alter ego.

She writes sweet romance set in Texas. Her new series, Bluebonnets & Billionaires, will launch in Jan 2019. Her books are part of the Phrey Press imprint.

More Than a Helping Hand is the 7th book in the Cowboys of Stargazer Springs Ranch series. While you'll definitely see familiar characters if you've read the previous book, this could definitely be enjoyed as a standalone as well with no confusion.

I absolutely LOVE a good meet-cute... and my favorites are those that are funny and awkward. This story certainly has that. I won't give away all the details... but it involved a cactus and it had me laughing out loud! So good! Anderson and Primrose are so sweet together. Their mutual attraction is pretty immediate, but having been burned in the past, Primrose is careful not to put her or her daughter's heart on the line too quickly. I love how understanding and patient Anderson is with their circumstances... you really couldn't help but fall for him with how very sweet he was! And the way he was with her daughter Bailey? Oh my goodness! Her character really helped to make this story, and I absolutely loved everything about it.

More Than a Helping Hand is a closed-door romance with kisses only and no language.
