When I was a kid, a movie came out from Dreamworks that told the story of Moses: The Prince of Egypt. Many of you may have grown up with this story, and now you can watch the filmed

I was recently given the chance to watch the musical for myself and share my thoughts. While I am certain that I probably did watch the movie when I was a child... I must admit that I have only the vaguest memories of it. As such, I cannot really make any comparison to that original animated movie. I did recognize some of the music--- most notably being 'When You Believe'.
Watching a play that has been filmed live always takes me a little to get used to... and there have been times when that has proved a distraction and kept me from staying in the story as I should. That was certainly NOT the case here. Everything about this production was absolutely stunning. The songs, of course, were absolutely fantastic and I loved the little hints of comedy throughout as well. But visually!? Oh my goodness, this was just beautifully done. The lighting, the costumes, the staging, the dancing... I felt like it all just worked perfectly together to keep me in the story, and I absolutely enjoyed it. I honestly think this is my favorite filmed live performance that I have personally experienced.
The Old Testament story is told beautifully and is the perfect musical to watch with your kids to spark priceless family conversations about Moses!!
