A charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers undertake an epic heist to retrieve a lost relic, but things go dangerously awry when they run afoul of the wrong people in this hilarious and action-packed adventure.

Confession: I know absolutely nothing about Dungeons and Dragons.
Okay, maybe not quite absolutely nothing... I know it's a game and a little bit about its history of it. I've seen it being played on TV shows and such briefly... so I'm familiar with it, but only in the very vaguest ways. I know nothing about the details of the game itself, how it is played, etc. As such, I can't say anything at all about how the movie compares to the game.
What I can say is that as someone who has no interest in the game, when I first started seeing trailers for this movie, I found myself thinking it didn't look bad. And so, I was excited to have the chance to check it out. It was a fun movie! Lots of action and adventure, yes, but also a good amount of laughs too...and some heartfelt ones to just round it all out.
The movie is rated PG-13 for its fantasy/action violence and some language. There isn't a ton of language, but definitely several used throughout at least. The rating seems pretty accurate to me, although some slightly younger audiences may enjoy it depending on your preferences on language and the child's maturity. There are some graphics that could be a little scary for younger or more sensitive audiences.
While this certainly isn't my usual type of movie, I found it to be an enjoyable adventure nonetheless.
