October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Did you know about 1 in 8 women in the US (13%) will develop breast cancer in her lifetime?

While breast cancer is primarily seen as something that affects ONLY women, men aren't completely in the clear either. A man’s lifetime risk of breast cancer is about 1 in 833 (2,650 cases per year).

Chances are, each and every one of us know someone who has been affected by breast cancer. A mother, a sister, an aunt, a friend, perhaps even yourself. Personally, there have been many women in my own family affected by breast cancer, but none more notable than my mom. Thankfully, hers was caught early and I am happy to say she has been cancer free for nearly 10 years.

It is for this reason, that the topic of breast cancer awareness is so near to my heart, and why I was so thrilled to hear about Erin Condren's new Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) collection. I was recently given the chance to check out some of the collection for myself and share my thoughts. Take a look:

First and foremost, I must say that the Special Edition Pink Flora Lotus BCRF Design featured in this collection is absolutely, positively gorgeous! I absolutely adore this design! Beyond that though, I love that there is a little bit of something in this collection for everyone. Some items are going to be ideal for those warriors currently battling cancer such as the treatment planner and the breast cancer journal. I personally had never seen anything like these products before, so I thought those were really wonderful and a great way to keep track of things. While other items like the incredibly soft sherpa throw and the notebook would also be great gifts for someone going through treatment, they would also be great for survivors or even just supporters too. Items like the accordion zipper pouch or the bubblegum designer pencil are even more subtle... like I said, there really is a little something for everything. And Erin Condren is donating 50% of the retail price of this new BCRF Collection to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation through the end of October! This is a great time to stock up on some planner needs, and support a great cause at the same time!!

What products in the BCRF Collection do you love most? Is there a breast cancer warrior in your life that you would love to honor with these items?
