New Ipsy Glam Blag Plus Ultra Personalization: A Look Inside my August Bag + Review

In the past, I have shared my experiences with the Ipsy Glam Bag, a monthly $12 beauty subscription that I absolutely love and wholeheartedly recommend. In those posts, I've mentioned that this basic $12 bag, is just one of their three subscription offerings. While the basic bag offers just deluxe sample sizes, they also have Glam Bag Plus which offers 5 full size items and Glam Bag Ultimate which offers 12 items, a mix of full size and samples.

I had previously stayed strictly with their base bag, as for me $25+ was a lot to spend on items I might not like or use. Sure, I knew the value would be there... but being quite careful with how I spend my money, it wasn't a risk that I was open to.

But with my birthday this month, I decided to treat myself just this once. And boy was my timing fantastic! For their August bag (and all months going forward), Ipsy has introduced a new Ultra-Personalization for the Glam Bag Plus only! Instead of choosing just ONE product as with the other bags, Glam Bag Plus now allows you to choose THREE of your five items, with them picking the final two. Choices are different for everyone based upon your profile. Within each of these three choices there are at least 4 choices to choose from.

For my first choice, I chose the Purlisse Matcha Green Tea Antioxidant Priming Moisturizer, retail value of $45. Among my choices for option one were a brand new (and highly desired) Estate Cosmetics x Bailey Sarian Venice Fling Eyeshadow Pallette and a few others with similarly valued products. While this stunning pallette was rather tempting, I knew the bolder colors didn't tend to look best on me. I have used other Purlisse products in the past and loved them so I opted to go for this one. I am so glad I did, as I absolutely loved how nice this makes my skin look and feel.

Next up, I chose the Murad Renewing Eye Cream. While I don't recall all of my choices, I do remember Dr Brandt Skincare Pores No More Luminizer Primer. I chose the Murad again because this was a brand that I have had great experiences with in the past. With a retail value of $82, this more than pays for the entire box on its own!

My final choice I must admit was a little trickier... as I wasn't super excited by any of the choices--- an eyeliner (which I rarely use) and a few mascara options for which reviews were a bit iffy on. I went with the Illamasqua Loaded Lip Polish in Glaze ($25 retail value). I again like this brand, and generally go crazy for lip products. The only issue is that I tend to prefer more vivid colors and this is just a clear gloss. I do love it once on though, and found it's actually really great for this time we're in as I can wear my gloss for that feeling I like, without worry about staining my masks. I feel like I definitely made the right choice.

The choices that Ipsy picked for me were the Huda Beauty Demi Matte Cream Liquid Lipstick in Lady Boss ($20) and Beauty For Real Shadow Stx 24-7 Eyeshadow Duo in Midnight Marathon and Ever Starstruck ($38). Did I mention I LOVE bold lips? This Huda lip color was right up my alley. In fact, it was the one item I was really hoping for from the spoilers. I wasn't sure about the eyeshadow at first, but once I tried it, I changed my tune... it works so well for creating a quick and simple look. I don't tend to wear dark eyeliner, but this darker shade on my pale skin worked as a nice subtle liner and complimented the lighter shade perfectly.

So, is the bag worth it? With a combined retail value of $210, the $25 price tag is most certainly a steal. The new personalization also makes it less of a risk that you'll spend the money and get nothing you like. For me, this bag was absolute perfection and well worth the price. If you like getting full size, higher end beauty products at a fraction of the cost, it might be a great option for you too.

The great thing about all Ipsy bags is that you can cancel or pause at any time. As I said, for me $25 can be a lot in my budget. As such, I don't plan to get this particular bag every single month. On months where money is a little tighter or where I just don't find myself wowed by the spoilers, I will pause. Super easy!

If you've been thinking of joing Ipsy Glam Bag Plus (or looking for a good beauty subscription), the new ultra personalization certainly makes the Glam Bag Plus a fantastic option. Visit here to get all the details: https://www.ipsy.com/05ihproe
