Acceptable Risk by Lynette Eason {Book Review}

**I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher for consideration. All thoughts are 100% my own.

Sarah Denning is a military journalist with the Army in the Middle East when her convoy is attacked and she's taken hostage. When former Army Ranger Gavin Black is asked by his old unit commander--Sarah's imposing father--to plan an extremely risky rescue, he reluctantly agrees and successfully executes it.

Back in the US, Sarah is livid when she's discharged on a false psychiatric evaluation and vows to return to the Army. Until she learns of her brother's suicide. Unable to believe her brother would do such a thing, she puts her plans on hold and enlists Gavin to help her discover the truth. What they uncover may be the biggest story of Sarah's career--if she can survive long enough to write it.

Strap in for another breakneck nail-biter from bestselling romantic suspense author Lynette Eason that will have you up turning pages long into the night.

Wow! Talk about a page turner! Right from the very first page, I absolutely could not put this one down. Lynette Eason never disappoints, so I always know I'm in for a treat when I sit down to read one of her books... but this one might just be my favorite one yet!

Acceptable Risk is book number two in the Danger Never Sleeps series. While I would highly recommend reading the first book as well, they can both be read as standalones. While those who have read the first book will notice a few familiar names, I didn't feel like a ton of spoilers were given if you chose to read them out of order, and you certainly won't be lost on this one either.

In Acceptable Risk, we get to know Sarah and Gavin. After surviving a kidnapping in the Middle East and being rescued by Gavin, she finds herself back in the US, discharged from the Army under false psychiatric evaluation. Overheard conversations, mysterious disappearances and her brother's rather unusual suicide lead us on a page turning suspense adventure that I for one couldn't put down. It read much like a good conspiracy theory... but one that happened to be true. Add in a good dash of romance, and this truly was an absolutely fantastic read.

This book does deal extensively with suicide as a primary focus (particularly veteran suicide and PTSD), and while I think these are very important topics, it should be noted as I know these can be triggering for many.

Overall, this was a great read. I cannot wait to see what happens next!
