**I received a complimentary Welcome a Cure mat from Carpet One for consideration. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this post are 100% my own.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Chances are everyone reading this has been impacted by this disease one way or another- whether it is as a survivor/fighter yourself or someone you know and love. Did you know that breast cancer is the second leading cause of death among women in America and Canada, with an estimated 1 in 8 women developing it over the course of their lifetime?

In 2019, it is estimated 268,600 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed in US women, with an estimated 41,760 deaths.

Now, I must admit these numbers sound pretty scary, BUT there is good news. The death rates from breast cancer have been declining since 1989 due in part to better screening and early detection, increased awareness, and continually improving treatment options. There are currently about 3.5 million breast cancer survivors in the United States.

My mom is among them.

Like many women in my family, she has battled this disease and thanks to early detection has been cancer free for over 5 years now. It is because of her experience, and that of so many women in our family that this cause is so important to me.

It is also why I am happy to once again be partnering with Carpet One  Floor & Home to promote their partnership together with Breast Cancer Research Foundation for their Welcome-A-Cure initiative:

Improvements and funds for breast cancer research are essential to preventing deaths, finding a cure and eradicating the disease for good. 25% of the purchase price of each pink ribbon welcome mat sold through the Carpet One Floor & Home Welcome-A-Cure initiative is donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. So far, the campaign has raised nearly 1 million dollars for a variety of breast cancer research charities, and has funding over 9,100 hours of life-saving research to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation®. Purchasing a welcome mat contributes directly to raising funds for breast cancer research and hopes for finding a cure.

Each year, Carpet One releases a collection of  globally-inspired US-made welcome mats featuring a pink ribbon design. Each 2’x3’ stain-and-water resistant, machine-washable mat is designed for indoor and outdoor use, featuring a sturdy rubber backing and a pink ribbon to remind people of the cause each mat stands behind. Pink ribbon welcome mats are available year-round at Carpet One Floor & Home stores for approximately $29.99 US/$34.99 CDN. Visit CarpetOne.com to find the nearest Carpet One Floor & Home store to purchase a pink ribbon welcome mat, contribute to an important cause and share your support online with #welcomeacure2019.

This year's collection has some GORGEOUS new designs to love, but my favorite was certainly the Citrus mat from the Mediterranean Collection. Yellow is my favorite color anyway and this shade is absolutely stunning. It happens to perfectly match my porch decor, but I also love that it would work well for a mat in the kitchen as well. Of course, once I placed it onto my hardwood flooring, it seemed to find a home right inside the front door too. I absolutely adore it, and find the pictures really don't do the color full credit.

Not only are these rugs a great way to show support for a great cause... their pink ribbon designs showing your support all year round in a stylish way, they are really fantastic quality as well. I have had my first Welcome a Cure mat for 5 years now. Other door mats that I'd had for that length of time have long since faded and needed replaced. But that mat? Still looks brand new! They are washable and just hold up really well over time even in the most high traffic areas. I have one of these rugs at each entrance-inside and out and in my kitchen and they all look fantastic. At this point, I cannot imagine having anything different.

I can feel great about supporting such a wonderful cause, while also know that I truly am getting my money's worth too. This frugal shopper could not ask for more. 12. Another budgetary advantage of getting your floor coverings cleaned by experts is that in the event that you lease a level, at that point getting your rugs cleaned can set aside you genuine cash in the long haul. Carpet cleaning business in NYC
