Action.
Adventure.
Drama.
Romance.

No matter what you look for in your winter reads, today I'm sharing a book that seems to cover them all, 'Wait For Me':

Pete Brooks can't believe he's waited an entire year for Jess Tagg to return to Montana, only to have her break his heart by getting engaged to her ex-fiancé. Worse, a series of mistakes on the job have cost lives, and Pete isn't sure he wants to continue to work in Search and Rescue. Maybe if he can just get over Jess, he can figure out how to move forward.
EMT Jess Tagg has returned to Montana to finally give her heart to Pete, but it seems he's no longer interested. When a terrible fight between them sparks an impulsive decision, she finds herself crashed on the side of a highway along with Esme Shaw. And just when she thinks things couldn't get any worse, she and Esme are taken captive and into the untamed Montana wilderness--with murderous intent.
Now Pete and the other PEAK Rescue Team members are in a race against time, the elements, and the actions of a vengeful man. Pete will have to use everything he's learned to find Jess and Esme--and pray that his past mistakes don't cost him the life of the woman he can't stop loving.
'Wait For Me' is book number 6 in the Montana Rescue series by Susan May Warner.

Confession: I did not realize this when I picked up this book. I was drawn to the synopsis and though it sounded like a great story, failing to realize that it was part of a series, let alone pretty far into it. To be honest, when I first started to read, I really found myself wishing I'd read those first five books. I was so lost! While there was a little bit of backstory given, I felt as though I should have already understood who the characters really were at that point in the story. Like I'd started in the middle of the movie. By the end of chapter two, I was pretty sure I just needed to stop reading.

But as a book reviewer, I decided to continue on. I'm glad I did. While I certainly would have liked to have more of that backstory and may go back later to get it, by the end of chapter four or five, I was hooked. It took me about to get there, but once the action took over, I no longer felt like I was missing as much. So, if you happen to pick it up with no prior knowledge of the series, it may take longer to dive in... but it's worth continuing to read.

Once I reached that point, I absolutely loved it. There was so much action, so much adventure... not necessarily my typical type of story... but it was fantastic. I found myself wanting to get to the end, not to get it over with, but just to see how things turned out. I don't want to give any spoilers here, but the twists and turns kept coming!

If you've already experienced the Montana Rescue series, I'm certain you will love this latest addition. If you haven't, it's still a great read, but I'd certainly suggest reading the first books first!
