Every two minutes, one woman is diagnosed with breast cancer.

That's an astounding number, isn't it? Every 2 minutes.

Here's another one for you: 1 in 8 women.

Chances are most of us have been impacted by breast cancer in one way or another- be it ourselves, a family member or a friend.

Sadly, in my family it is something that I have seen all too much, but none of them as close to me as my mom. A little over 5 years ago, I received the phone call that no daughter wants to receive. A lump had been found and it was cancer. Thankfully, in my mom's case she found it very early during a self check, but unfortunately many are not as lucky.

The good news is that the death rate has decreased since 1989, in part due to better screening and early detection, increased awareness, and continually improving treatment options. There are now more than 3.5 million breast cancer SURVIVORS in the United States alone. This is fantastic, but of the expected 250,000 women to be diagnosed each year, it is estimated that around 40,000 will pass. That number is STILL too high.  Improvements and funds for breast cancer research are essential to preventing deaths, finding a cure and eradicating the disease for good.

This is why Carpet One  Floor & Home has once again partnered together with Breast Cancer Research Foundation for their Welcome-A-Cure initiative.

Cute, right? I love the colors and the message, and of course the pink ribbon in the corner. It truly is the perfect mat to welcome anyone into my home. But aside from the style, let's talk quality, shall we? As I've mentioned, I have a few of these rugs now, and have had them for years. They've been used outside, inside--- high traffic areas and low traffic areas... and honestly, each one still looks GREAT! For kids and a husband who like to track in mud (as my actual carpet will show), that's pretty astounding. A good quality mat that lasts and looks nice is fantastic enough, but throw in that it supports a good cause that is near to my heart? They truly couldn't get any better.
