If you like to talk to tomatoes...
If you love your lips...
If you dream of water buffalos...
If you're on the search for your hairbrush...

Have I got a book for YOU!

Oh yes, we're talking about Veggie Tales! And if your home is anything like mine, the Veggie love is STRONG!

I was first introduced to Veggie Tales when I was a child at Vacation Bible School. To be honest, I was a little bit older than what one might think of when they think of Veggie Tales (though it had been out for several years before then), but I learned very quickly that Veggie Tales didn't JUST appeal to little kids... we all loved it, no matter our age.

When I became a mom for the first time, I could not wait to share my love with my own children. Thankfully, both of my children shared that love. So, we were very excited to check out the all new book, 'Very Veggie 5-Minute Stories':

Perfect for an on-the-go storytime or a fast bedtime reading for sleepy kids, Very Veggie 5-Minute Stories brings fans a new collection of nine VeggieTales adventures. As the Veggie cast stumbles and springs through hilarious scenarios, children will learn values such as being patient, being responsible, loving others, and doing their best. Full-color illustrations accompany the stories and will hold the attention of the read-to-me set. Ages 3-6 years.

Five minute stories!? I'll take it! As much as my daughter loves being read to, she's also pretty active. If a story drags on too long, she'll grow tired of it and move on. Five minutes is the perfect length. Not too short, not too long... But let's be honest, these stories are so much fun that you might just find that your child will want to read through every single story. Every single time. I know my daughter certainly did.

Like the show, this book has everything we love about our favorite Veggie friends. For the kids, the stories are silly and fun. They see their favorite characters getting into fun situations... just the kind of thing they enjoy. For me as a parent, they offer those great lessons that we have come to love and expect from Veggie Tales.

While we enjoyed EVERY story from 'The Good, The Bad, and the Silly' to 'Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Mop?', I must say our absolute favorite was 'The Surprising Knight'. Of course, we're big fans of anything fairy tales and princesses, so it was right up our alley. But each story has a little something different so there is certain to be one that appeals to every child! Vikings, superheros, old west or mystery... you name it!

Overall, we loved this book and are enjoying reading it over and over again. It truly is a must see for every Veggie Tales fan!
