Here I Am To Worship: Easter Reflections

Do you have a song that has the ability to bring you to tears?

No matter how many times you hear it, are there words that speak to you so deeply that it nearly takes your breath away. For me, one of those songs is Here I Am To Worship. That is in large part to one simple line...

I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross

Wow. Such power in those words, isn't there? Today, as we celebrate Easter, I think about these words. We so often hear people say 'I would die for ____'. That's pretty easy to say about someone we love. But what about those who we don't? What about the people who don't deserve it? How many of us would truly be willing?

And yet, Jesus did.

The older I get and the more life experience I gather, the more I stand in awe of that sacrifice. To take on the weight of the world's sins- past, present and future- not just for the innocent, but for the ungrateful, the mockers, the thieves- who are we to deserve that? I cannot even put into words just how grateful I am- today and every day- to have a savior that loves me in my imperfection THAT much.

On this Easter day as you spend the days celebrating Christ's resurrection with your family, I leave you with this song and I hope that it touches you as it does me.

Happy Easter!
