BibleForce: The First Heroes Bible {A Book Review}

When I was a kid, my parents got me a Bible... just as many parents do when they're raising their children to follow Christ. It was a simple Bible- black cover simply stating 'Holy Bible' and written in the good ol' KJV translation.  Now, I'm only 30 years old so not old by any means, but at that time, this was the pretty standard Bible for all ages. A classic. Perhaps it's that we lived in the country so the options were limited, but I do believe that there truly were just limited options available at the time.

When I became a teenager, I discovered a fun Christian bookstore about 30-40 minutes from home. There I discovered a brand new Bible that had just been released. I don't recall the name of this Bible, but it was styled like a magazine, geared towards teen girls. I LOVED magazines. Okay, I still love magazines. The fun articles, the quizzes, the great images... everything. Naturally my teenage self was drawn to these Bibles. I think that is truly where my love of Bibles began--- finding that perfect Bible that appealed to what I enjoyed. It allowed me to see that it WAS relevant and that it was something I could enjoy.

We all need that, don't we? Back then for me that was my magazine styled Bible. For many today, they find that in journaling Bibles or coloring Bibles. Still some find it in devotionals geared toward where they are in their lives right now- military life, motherhood, homeschooling--- there are bibles for all of these.

Today I'm excited to introduce you to a new Bible storybook that is perfect for those who love comics books and superheroes: BibleForce.

Dive into the action and adventure of the Bible! BibleForce will help you and your children discover the message of the Bible and the heroes within its pages. The focus on Bible heroes makes the stories even more thrilling.

This beautifully illustrated Bible is retold in a visually enticing, fast-paced narrative that is sure to capture your attention. BibleForce follows the events of the Bible in chronological order and shares nearly 200 stories of Scripture in a simple, straightforward retelling.

BibleForce is a great book to be read together and is simple enough for young readers to read on their own. Kids will be enthralled in the thrilling drama of the Bible and the visually engaging detail of the illustrations—they won’t be able to put down this exciting book.

Jump into the story of God’s Word and the amazing heroes within its pages.

If you know your Bible styles, you will likely know that this is not the first Bible inspired comic book/graphic novel. In fact, others such as The Action Bible have been around for several years now. We have this one in our collection, and while my son at 10.5 years old DOES enjoy it, I always felt that it was really for more of an older audience. This is not to say there was anything bad or inappropriate about it at all--- just that they style seemed to lend itself more towards teenagers and yes, even adults. The illustrations darker, more intricate, etc.

BibleForce in my opinion seems to be better for this age group. The illustrations are still every bit as stunning and action packed but seem to be brighter, bolder... just what my son loves. It's easy enough for even fairly young readers to read without help as well, which is a huge plus in my book. It allows kids of all ages to see the heroes in the Bible--- the real life heroes--- in the same way that they love seeing their favorite comic book heroes... pretty great, right?

One thing that I really loved about this Bible storybook is that it goes in chronological order, helping us to gain a better understanding of what it is we're reading. I think this is important at any age, but especially for kids who are truly just learning about the Bible. While BibleForce should never be a replacement for an actual Bible, it is truly a great way to encourage kids to fall in love and realize just how great the stories inside truly are!

If you have a kid who loves superheroes or comics, this is one that is certainly worth checking out! It is available to purchase now at your favorite Christian book retailers.
