Stick To Your Resolutions with a Deal from PlateJoy #ad

***This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of PlateJoy. All thoughts are 100% my own.

Let's talk meal planning!

Are you a 'plan out every meal for the week' kind of person? Or a 'I'll pick whatever I feel like on any given day' kind of person? Or perhaps even a little in between somewhere?

With the start of the new year, many have made the resolution that this year is the year they are going to be more diligent about meal planning. When you plan your meals ahead of time, you can shop accordingly and aren't tempted to just grab something through a drive thru or ordering takeout--- helping you in those other common goals of saving money and eating better too.

Still, sometimes it's a little easier said than done, isn't it? I'll share my own personal attempts at meal planning as an example. It goes a little something like this:

  • Make a plan to make a plan. I sit down ready to go--- shopping list and meal schedule in hand. Let's do this!
  • Head to Pinterest. Time to get ideas. What better place to go than Pinterest? Thousands of recipes to browse through and add to my list.
  • Get lost on Pinterest. So many recipes to browse through, I've suddenly found that hours have passed and I still haven't finished my list, nor do I have time to do my shopping now.
  • Order a pizza/Chinese food, go out to eat.... or whip up the same ol' usual meals I make time and time again.
Sigh. Does this happen to anyone else? Surely there must be a better way, right?

Enter PlateJoy- a personalized meal planning app that makes healthy eating easy! A personalized meal plan is created just for you based on a quiz discussing your family size, fitness goals, dietary restrictions--- even your schedule.

Here's just a little look at what makes PlateJoy such a fantastic way to stick to your healthy eating resolution this year:

  • Starting a new diet? Whether it's low carb, low sodium, keto, paleo, food allergies, vegetarian, weight loss, etc, PlateJoy has you covered with great meal plans a recipes to fit them all.
  • Adjust to your cooking style! Some people loving making in depth gourmet meals every night, but for others we need something that fits our lifestyles and cooking preferences a little better. From family friendly, batch cooking, slow cooker meals, budget friendly--- whatever the needs you have, PlateJoy takes care of them.
  • Adjust to your schedule. Let's be honest, not all meal plans are created equal, but can vary greatly based on our schedules. Some nights we aren't home for dinner due to work or extracurricular activities. Some eat at work during the days and don't need a full lunch planned out, etc. You choose how many meals you need, and your meal plan is adjusted accordingly.
  • Waste less. One of the issues I so often found when menu planning elsewhere was that I would find these great recipes, but when I would make my lists, it'd be a mile long... no common ingredients, and even some that would feature a spice or other ingredient that I would not know how to use the remainder. PlateJoy offers a digital pantry that keeps track of what you have on hand already, and pairs recipes together with less waste in mind.
  • Convenient Shopping. Once you've settled your menu plan for the week and established what you have, you will be given a shopping list that lets you know just what you need and how much you need. You can view your list on the app at the store OR schedule a delivery with a local grocery store, with all needed items added automatically to your list. No subscription fees required.
  • Get your recipes on your phone! No need to print or lug a laptop into the kitchen, all recipes are delivered right to your phone so you can take them with you easily.

I was given the chance to experience PlateJoy for myself and I must admit, I love it! There were some recipes that came up that I knew weren't for my family, but I could easily swap them out and find more that were a little better suited to our personal tastes. I've used other options that offered weekly meal plans, and switching out was not always an option--- so this was a huge plus. It was very easy to understand and use, even for the non-tech savvy, I think. And I loved that the recipes selected for my family weren't too complicated. With two kids, I just don't have time for that. These meals are healthy and delicious, BUT easy to understand, follow and duplicate.

Here's a look at my very first meal from our PlateJoy meal plan: Pork chops with green beans, basil butter and a roll.

Now, I must say that I DID substitute the chops for pork steak, as I already had them on hand, and we typically prepare pork steak in the same way as chops, but aside from that I followed the recipe exactly. It was incredibly simple--- using simple, FRESH ingredients for a healthy meal that my family went absolutely crazy for. There was not a bite left over.

Some other fun options from our menu? Pulled pork tacos with cabbage slaw. Tilapia with lime butter, rice and spinach. BBQ meatloaf with roasted potatoes and green beans. Yum! Each of these meals was equally as easy to follow, and the ones we've done so far? All a big hit in my house. I loved that each meal was truly a full meal. I often struggle coming up with pairing ideas so this was a huge benefit for me too. PlateJoy clearly thought of it all.
