Spurgeon Journal: A Review

**Book received for consideration. All thoughts are 100% my own.

Do you journal?

No, no...I'm not talking about Bible journaling today, but just plain ol' journaling.

When many of us think about journaling, we probably think of something that is more for teenagers. You know, those, 'Dear diary' moments. But journaling can actually be great for all of us-- no matter our ages.

  • It helps us organize our thoughts.
  • It allows us to decompress.
  • It allows us to look back and see how things have changed.
  • It gives us better clarity on our lives.
There are also many ways to journal. We can journal about our day to day events, we can journal our goals and our dreams, we can journal our prayers... journaling can be whatever we want it to be. But first, we need a great journal! Today, I'm sharing one with you: the Spurgeon Journal:

For almost 160 years, Charles Haddon Spurgeon’s earliest sermons were lost to history. Thanks to Christian George and Spurgeon’s College, these powerful words from one of the world’s most popular preachers are now widely accessible to be read, studied, and enjoyed in the twelve volumes of the Lost Sermons of C. H. Spurgeon series.

This journal contains Spurgeon’s own inspirational words culled from these early sermons. On the page directly following each quote, you’ll find the source—the name and number of one of Spurgeon’s early sermons—for easy reference. In addition, the customizable table of contents at the front of the journal and the date feature at the top of each page allow you to keep your thoughts organized.

Whether you use your journal for writing sermons, taking notes, or daily journaling, allow Spurgeon’s stirring words to speak to your life today.

This is a gorgeous journal. It has a leather look with a printed design on the side, that is perfect for anyone- male or female. Inside is plenty of space to write your thoughts, with quotes by Spurgeon along the bottom of some pages. In addition to the quotes, it tells you which sermon the quote was found so if one strikes you, you can actually look them up for some more reading. It certainly had me wanting to read more.

Whether it's for a prayer journal, your bible study, or just to record your daily thoughts, this is a great journal to do it in. It is available to purchase now at your favorite Christian book retailers.
