Ways To Green Your Beauty/Self Care Routine with Himalaya Botanique Complete Care Toothpaste #MomsMeet

I received this product for free from Moms Meet (momsmeet.com) to use and post my honest opinions. Compensation for this post was provided and this page may contain affiliate links.

I recently shared some tips about living a more green/sustainable lifestyle, and among those tips was my most given advice--- look into one area of your life at a time! That could mean from room to room, or even from category to category, but I've found if you go one step at a time rather than changing everything all at once, you're less likely to get frustrated and give up completely! So today, we're talking about our beauty and self care routine, and I'll be sharing some simple tips to make them green!

  • Look for more natural cosmetics. You don't have to give up your makeup completely, just find options that are a little more eco-friendly! There are many out there to choose from!
  • Keep is simple. Sometimes we think we need the fanciest of products, but that's not always the case... did you know jojoba oil is a great makeup remover and just might reduce the appearance of wrinkles? Or that coconut oil is a great moisturizer? Try those more natural alternatives by themselves or...
  • Do It Yourself. Make fun scrubs, lotions, and more! You'll know exactly what's going into them, and if you use reusable containers, you'll have a lot less waste!
  • Skip the Shower. Okay, okay... if you're working out or work in a job where you're getting yourself sweaty and dirty, this might not be an option for you, but if you can, do your showers (or at least hair washing), every other day or so. I've found my hair and skin do MUCH better this way, and it saves water AND product. You can also do a dry shampoo between washes if needed for oily hair.
  • Switch to a Greener Toothpaste. Oral care is such an important part of looking and feeling great, so switching to a better for you option is a GREAT way to green your routine!

One thing I've found with greening my routine is that you have to find products that WORK. This is especially true with oral care! We do NOT want to risk our teeth at the sake of going green! And I'll be honest, I've tried some natural products that just didn't seem like they worked for me! Today, I'm excited to share with you a product that DOES work: Himalaya Botanique Complete Care Toothpaste!

So, what's makes Himalaya Botanique Complete Care unique?

  • They are free from harmful ingredients like Carrageenan, Fluoride and SLS. Instead they use other natural flavors and ingredients to give you a great clean. Neem leaf is used to clean teeth and  gives the formulation its sparkle. Promegranate is a natural  astringent fruit extract. It helps to support healthy looking gums. Triphala is composed of three myrobalan fruits, and is an traditional detox formula. It keeps your teeth clean and your smile radiant. Xylitol- a tooth friendly sweetener- has been clinically studied to support good oral hygiene. Papain and Bromelain, the enzymes found in papaya and pineapple are great for removing surface stains. All are ingredients found in nature, that work together for a great tooth clean.
  • And they work. I know if you're like me, you read through all of that and had no clue what any of that meant. I mean it sounds great- yay nature- but does it work!? And in my experience, yes.  Immediately after just one brushing, my teeth just felt cleaner! You know that feeling? Every single time I've brushed with these toothpastes- no matter the flavor- I've felt the same. There are many other toothpastes out there where I don't get this- both natural and more mainstream. My breath smelled fresh, and I just felt more confident in my smile! And it lasts, it's not just a good feeling for a few minutes, but throughout the day too!
  • They taste good! There are 7 great tasting and long lasting flavors to choose from: Whitening Complete Care Simply Peppermint, Whitening Complete Care Simply Mint, Complete Care Simply Peppermint, Simply Mint, Simply Cinnamon, Simply Spearmint and the Original Neem and Pomegranate toothpaste. Now I must admit I haven't tried every single one of these yet, but I loved the ones I did try. I am very picky about toothpastes, so if I like it, it must be good! My favorites were the Whitening Complete Care Simply Mint and the Simply Cinnamon... mmm... they actually make you look forward to brushing!
  • All flavors are Gluten Free!
  • They are available at chain health food stores like Whole Foods, Sprouts, Natural Grocers Vitamin Cottage, and some smaller local stores too such as PCC Natural Markets, Central Market, Mother’s Market, Earth Origins, King Soopers and many others. Can't find them locally? You can also buy online through their website or Amazon! They retail for $5.99.

  1. I had gone back to commercial toothpaste and need to put more effort into this type. I am not a fan of fluoride at all.
