Celebrate Dr. Seuss with DIY Truffula Trees

Today is National Read Across America Day... and Dr. Seuss's Birthday! What better way to celebrate than with a fun and simple Dr. Seuss themed craft?

My son's favorite Dr. Seuss book by far is The Lorax! He LOVES it! So, we decided to just use some craft supplies we already had on hand to make a fun craft inspired by the book!

Easy DIY Truffula Trees
  • Pipe Cleaners
  • Pom Poms
  • Glue
  • Paper (optional)

  1. First up we need to make the trunk of our tree with the pipe cleaners. Take two and twist to get a fun, twisty design.
  2. Next up, add on the pom pom to the top. You may be able to just twist the pipe cleaners around it, depending on the pom poms you have, but otherwise, I suggest just a little hot glue for quick drying.
  3. Now, the tree is done! You can attach them to a piece of paper, create a truffula forest, or get a small flower pot to display them in!

That's it's! This simple craft is the perfect way to celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday!

Need more ideas? Just give your kiddos their favorite books and some construction paper, glue and scissors... you'll be amazed at what they come up with...

How are YOU celebrating today?
