Enjoy a Tennessee Christmas with Amy Grant {A #TennesseeChristmas Giveaway} #flyby

Christmas music is my favorite! Every year I count down the days until it is acceptable to start listening! (And okay, admittedly, sometimes I don't even wait that long!) When I was a teenager, I worked at an amusement park called Holiday World, where as the name suggests, each sections is divided into a different holiday. (If you're older and from the midwest, you may have known it as Santa Claus Land.) I loved those days that I was scheduled to work in the Christmas section, so that I could hear my favorite Christmas tunes right in the middle of summer.

So, every year as the holidays draw near I get excited to add more holiday music to my collection. Today I'm excited to share with you my newest addition: Amy Grant's Tennessee Christmas!

One of the things that I love most about Christmas music is the feeling of warmth they so often bring... and no album better accomplishes that than this one. If you're looking for an upbeat- Jingle Bells & Deck the Halls type of album, this one may not be what you are looking for, but if you're looking for something slow and heartfelt... you can't get any better. This whole album just feels like family. That statement in and of itself may not make much sense, but if you listen you'll understand just what I mean. This is perhaps most evident in two of my favorites from the album- Baby Its Cold Outside and Christmas Don't Be Late.

Baby It's Cold Outside happens to be my favorite non-Christian Christmas song, so I always enjoy hearing various versions and this was certainly a great one. Amy was joined by her husband Vince Gill. Their voices blend beautifully and I loved hearing them together. Christmas Don't Be Late happens to be my husband's favorite song, but what set this one apart was both the commentary of Amy reflecting on Christmases past, and her daughters joining in. As I said, this truly felt like a family album and I so enjoyed experiencing it.

Another song that perfect reflects that is the beautiful To Be Together.

Beautiful, right? Isn't this truly what Christmas is all about. Time together with family! Do you have video of surprising your family for the holidays? Feel free to share via social using the hashtag #TNChristmasSurprise!
