At the end of last year, I was given the oppurtunity to share with you a wonderful new book series for girls called Bible Belles The Adventures of Rooney Cruz and share the first book, Hannah The Belle of Prayer with all of you! For those who missed it, here's a little overview on the series:

Bible Belles' The Adventures of Rooney Cruz is an original children’s series that presents real heroes like never before. The series highlights five superhero women of the Bible: Hannah, Esther, Abigail, Ruth, and Deborah. In today’s world, the girls who are the loudest are the ones who get noticed.
Together, the Bible Belles show all of us how to make a different kind of noise.

We absolutely loved the first book, and could not wait to read more in the series! So, I was thrilled to have the chance to read book #2, and even more thrilled to learn that this one was all about Esther:

The adventures of Rooney and Mari continue in Book Two of the Bible Belles series. With the help of her angel Mari, Rooney has learned that she has the power to talk to God through the amazing story of Hannah; now it’s time for her to see how the Power of Patience can help her to wait and trust in Him.

As she watches Esther and her struggle to save her people, Rooney learns how to handle her own conflict on the soccer field by allowing God to lead her in His perfect time.

Join Rooney and Mari on another exciting adventure to becoming the best kind of superhero—a Bible Belle!

If I had to choose my favorite woman in the Bible, Esther would have to be it. Actually, the book of Esther is my personal favorite book. I feel like there is so much that can be learned from her story...among them patience. Waiting is hard, for adult and kids alike. We want what we want right now. I know that I'm guilty of this myself. For kids, I think it can be even worse--- especially in a time where everything is available to them in an instant! Esther is such a beautiful example of the importance of waiting and praying on God's timing. And for the girls who love princess stories, the fact that she was a queen makes it even more appealing!

But it's not just a beautiful lesson, it's a fun story too! It puts this story into perspective with a real life modern story that girls can relate to! My daughter is really too young to truly grasp the whole story, but for older girls, they are better able to understand why Esther is important and why they should look to her for an example.

As much as we loved the first book, I think we loved this story even more! These books truly are a great reminder to every little girl that they only need to look to the Bible to find those real life superheroes to look up to in their lives. We cannot wait to see what the next one has in store for us.
