Just in Time For Easter Baskets: Owlegories Vol. 2 is HERE! {A Review}

**DVD received for review, all thoughts are my own.

Last year, my kids were introduced to- and fell in love with- a fantastic new series called Owlegories- a new animated series and interactive digital app that teaches kids about God through the amazing things found in nature and revealed in God’s Word.

My son loves Bible stories and learning about the Bible, so when he first heard about it, he knew he had to have it. Once they watched it for the first time, they wanted to watch it more and more! Unfortunately, at that point being a brand new series, there was only one DVD available. As much as they loved it, there were ready for more fun!

Guess what!? The wait is over! The second DVD is here! Owlegories Vol. 2 – The Ant, The Fruit , The Butterfly brings to life lessons based on Scripture about hard work (Prov. 6:6), the fruit of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22-23) and true freedom (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Take a look at the episodes included:

Episode 1: The Ant: The student owls are sent on assignment to a maple syrup farm with a group of ants. The owls must work together to accomplish their mission and learn three ways followers of Christ should be like the ant.

Episode 2: The Fruit: The Professor sends the kids to an apple orchard on a special assignment. There they must find trees that produce good fruit and discover the nine Fruit of the Spirit mentioned in the Bible.

Episode 3: The Butterfly: The students must overcome their fear of bugs as they go on a mission to find caterpillars around their school. Along the way, the owls learn about metamorphosis and the three ways a follower of Christ is like a caterpillar.

Like I said, my son loves his Bible stories.... but so often those stories teach more about the who, when and what... and don't focus as much on the lessons. To me, I find those lessons to be just as important as knowing all the people in the Bible- more so even. And this show is a really fun way to teach those. I know my kids personally love animals and nature, as do so many, so it really is deal.

Much like the first DVD, this installment was another huge hit with my kids! My son was most excited about episode 1: The Ant. He's been on a bit of an ant kick lately, so it was right up his alley. And I loved the way they took a tiny little creature that we typically pay no mind to other than an annoyance and use it to teach such powerful and important lesson. And the same can be said about each episode too, taking these everyday things that kids love, and turning them into a great story that kids will relate to and remember teaching lessons that will stick with them more than any lectures would.

My kids loved Volume 2 and are now patiently waiting for what's to come!

This DVD is fantastic and would make an awesome addition to your child's Easter basket this year... a show they can watch throughout the year yet still is a good reminder of the reason we celebrate.
