The Berenstain Bears The Very First Christmas {A Book Review}

**As a BookLook Blogger, I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts are my own.

Raise your hand if you love The Berenstain Bears!

That's pretty much everyone, right? I know we certainly love them in my house! And who can blame us. The characters are fun, the stories are easily understandable by little ones and the lessons are fantastic. Just the type of books I want my children to enjoy!

Today, I'm excited to share with you the newest book-The Berenstain Bears, The Very First Christmas:

A Christmas story from the bestselling Berenstain Bears Living Lights series.

The bestselling Berenstain Bears brand and Living Lights series continue their proven tradition of teaching children valuable lessons in a fun and creative way. In the affordable 8x8 softcover format, The Berenstain Bears and the Night Jesus was Born gives fans of the Berenstain Bears the story of Jesus’ coming … from the angel’s announcement of a new baby to the visit of the three wise men

This newest Easter title in the Berenstain series is perfect for gift-giving or as an easy addition to any holiday library.

I've talked a lot about the importance of teaching kids about the true meaning of Christmas. With so much else going on at holiday time, it's easy for it to get lost. So, I'm always on the hunt for great books and resources that will help me to do just that. This book has been a welcome addition! As I said, my children already love The Berenstain Bears. What better way to teach them about the birth of Jesus than by introducing it through characters that they already know and love?

Now, to be honest, you really don't see too much from Brother and Sister Bear in this book. We see them on the very first page as we are told that Papa Bear is going to read them a story from their Bible storybook, but aside from that it truly is just the story of Christ's birth. I love that about this book. It introduces the story, but doesn't take away from it! It's also written in a way that very much keeps with the story in the Bible, but that is told in a way that children can actually understand.

Perhaps one of my favorite things about this book are the activities and questions at the very end. These include question to think about and to help kids have a better understanding of what it is they have read, and give us a starting point as a family to teach our children beyond just reading the story. The activities also give us great starting points to go out and apply the lessons in our real life!

If you are looking for a great book that will make learning about the very first Christmas fun for your kids, The Berenstain Bears The Very First Christmas is a great choice! You can purchase your copy at your favorite Christian book retailers.
