The Biggest Story: How The Snake Crusher Brings Us Back To The Garden Review & Giveaway #FlyBy #BiggestStory

Do your children have a favorite Bible story? How about yourself?

From Adam and Eve to Noah's Ark, Jonah and the Whale or the Tower of Babel, the Bible is full of amazing stories! Each story by itself has a great lesson to be learned. But for many kids it can seem like just that... a collection of individual stories. Great stories, of course... but how did they go together? What was the BIG picture? The common thread that linked these tales together?

This is just what the new book, The Biggest Story, teaches us:

About the book:

Hardcover: 132 pages
Publisher: Crossway (August 31, 2015)

In The Biggest Story, Kevin DeYoung - a best-selling author and father of six - leads kids and parents alike on an exciting journey through the Bible, connecting the dots from the garden of Eden to Christ's death on the cross to the new heave and new earth.  With powerful illustrations by award-winning artist Don Clark, this imaginative retelling of the Bible's core message-how the Snake Crusher brings us back to the garden-will draw children into the biblical story, teaching them that God's promises are even bigger and better than we think.

First and foremost, can we just take a moment to admire the beauty of this book!? The artwork is AMAZING! It's bright, it's vibrant and it's truly unlike any children's book I've seen in the past. I would love to hang these beautiful pieces on my wall so that I could see them each and every day.

With such beautiful artwork, it could be easy for the words to get lost, but in this case, the words are just as beautiful as the pictures! It starts with the story of Adam and Eve, takes us through stories of Cain and Abel and the Ark, Moses and the Commandments and ultimately ends with the birth, death and promise of Jesus' return. From Genesis to Revelation, it tells us how these amazing stories we love on their own work together to show us the biggest story of all- the story of Jesus! And what an amazing story it is!

Now, this is not your typical children's picture book. It's not going to be a quick read for bedtime and probably will not make a ton of sense to a toddler or preschool aged child. It's not a difficult book, but it is a BIG story...and not something that could be crammed into one short tale. Instead it has 10 beautiful chapters- easy enough for beginning readers, but definitely one that is going to take a little longer (which makes the attached bookmark very handy!). I couldn't help but think it would be a great transitioning book for those who read picture books easily, but aren't quite ready for a typical chapter book either. But it's also a great book to read as a family too! Even as an adult, I found this to be a great (quick) read!

If you're looking for a fun way to teach your child the story of Jesus and how it all goes together, this is definitely going to be a must see!
