Be a Light & Wear Your Faith with the NEW Fall Jewelry from Family Christian #FCBlogger

A huge thank you to Family Christian for sponsoring today's post, all thoughts are my own.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. - Matthew 5:16

I just adore this verse. It sums up perfectly how I want to live. I want to be that light that gives glory to God in all that I do... that includes the way I present myself to the world! So, how can I do that?

Today, I'm sharing my 3 simple ways:

Show God's Love Through Attitude and Actions.

First and foremost, the single most important thing that we can do as Christians to be a light in the world is to act like Christians. That doesn't mean we act as though we are better than others, or that we have to constantly be preaching the Word everywhere we go. Instead, we just have to have a positive attitude- we must be kind and loving to everyone, even those we don't always agree with. We must be slow to anger and quick to forgive. We must not judge or gossip. Of course, we are only human and we will all have our bad days, but we should try not to dwell in them. We should instead strive to show God's love and mercy in all that we do. Big or small.

Dress in a Way That Pleases God.

Don't worry, I'm not here to tell you you HAVE to wear skirts 24/7, can't cut your hair or wear a tank top... When it comes to modesty, there are a million different answers as to what should be considered modest and what should not... and you have to find that line for yourself. Personally, I prefer skirts for comfort, but wear them only 75% of the time. I wear thicker tank tops on occasions, but avoid spaghetti straps, halters or sleeveless clothes for the most part. Cleavage? Not for me. And if it's too short to allow me to get down on the floor and play with my kids? Not going to be appropriate. Again, your comfort levels may vary from my own and that's okay, but I encourage you to consider what your clothing portrays before choosing those pieces, and ask whether or not that is the image you want to portray as a light for Christ. (Candance Cameron Bure has some great thoughts on modesty in her book Dancing Through Life!)

Wear Your Faith.

The first two steps are a bit more subtle, but this one is all about displaying your faith proudly no matter where you go! Of course, there are many great t-shirts out there with great messages to shout to the world...but I'm not much for t-shirts myself. Instead, I love mixing my faith into my regular fall wardrobe with great accessories like jewelry! Perhaps the best thing about jewelry is that you can find styles to go with whatever your tastes are. There are simple pieces- elegant and delicate. But for me, I love BOLD! I love pieces that stand out and finish any outfit perfectly.

The new fall collection from Family Christian is perfect! Take a look:
