**Big thanks to Thanks Mama for sponsoring today's giveaway. All thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.

Shopping for babies can be a lot of fun...but it can also be really confusing. What do mom and baby truly NEED? What is completely unnecessary? It's no wonder that despite registries, party guests tend to find themselves going for the old staples of shower gifts- disposable diapers, bath care, bottles and pacifiers. Unfortunately, for many moms like myself who choose to do a things a little more naturally, even these gifts can go unused. So today, I wanted to share with you a few of my top picks of shower gifts for the more natural mama.

Cloth Diapers

Diapers are the #1 must have for ANY baby, and cloth diapers are certainly the best way to go, in my opinion. They save a ton of money and are much better for baby and the environment too. But what kind should you buy? First up, ask the mom to be if she has a preference...pockets, all in ones, all in twos...or any brand names she should prefer. If she doesn't, feel free to go for a variety...there is truly no way to know what is going to work for each baby and mom will appreciate the chance to try out several varieties (I know I would have). A couple of my top choices-

All-in-Twos/Inserts & Covers: Flip Diapers from Bumgenius. These are perhaps the best way to get the most bang for your buck. Because you can reuse the cover throughout the day, you need less covers, more inserts, making it a great budget friendly option! Flips are the same great quality (and fun prints/colors) you'd expect from other Bumgenius products for a great price.

Pocket Diapers: Thirsties One Size Pocket Diapers. Of all the pockets we've tried, these definitely seem to work the best for us. They are ultra absorbent, and include both a full size hemp and newborn microfiber insert. For the best results, we layer them, microfiber on top for its quick absorbency, and hemp below.

All-in-One Diapers: Bumgenius Freetimes. These offer the great convenience of your typical all in one diapers, but with a much quicker drying time. These are great to have on hand for daddy, grandparents and other caregivers not accustomed to using cloth.

Cloth Diaper Accessories

Sprayers, liners, etc are all great...but the two most important cloth diaper accessories (in my opinion) are wipes (if mom plans to use cloth wipes that is!) and wet bags. Wet bags also make the perfect gift for the mom who is on the fence about cloth diapering. Even if she decides cloth diapering isn't for her, wet bags are useful for soiled clothes when out and about, wet swimsuits and so much more, far beyond the diapering years!

Baby Carriers

A great carrier is an essential in my book...it's the only way I can get anything done at times, and is so much easier than a stroller when out and about! For my son, a wrap was his carrier of choice. My daughter on the other hand hates wrap, but absolutely adores a soft structured carrier, like our Ergo!

Breastfeeding Accessories

All a breastfeeding mom REALLY needs to feed baby is...well, breasts...but there are a few things that make it a little easier. For me, a cover and reusable breast pads were certainly a must have.

All of these great products (and many, many more) can be found at Thanksmama.com!
