A Modern Day Fairy Tale

Family Room Pinspiration!!

In our new house, we have this wonderful extra living room type area that is last on my list to decorate:

Gorgeous, isn't it?

It certainly has a ton of potential anyway! The goal of this room is to be a family room/playroom...a fun space, that's not overly kid-ish where we can play board games, the Wii, etc and where he can be free to play as he pleases! I'm picturing lots of bright colors, and perhaps a slightly vintage feel (though I'm thinking more 60s and 70s than my usual love of 50s!)

The picture above was taken on the day we first looked at the house, the picture below is what we have going on now:

Ahh, the sheet over the windows is a great look isn't it? (It was getting crazy hot without something!) The addition of furniture was recent...on a whim on Monday I decided to move our love seat out of the living room and into this room...I get these whims often!! (I'm not sure why my hubby is ever surprised when he comes home to find furniture moved!) You can see that it desperately needs a little love...and so I turn to Pinterest. These are a few ideas I've been considering!!

Obviously curtains are very much needed in this room...I've looked and looked and can't find any (affordable) options to suit the look I'm hoping for!! Curtains are so expensive!! So this seems like a great alternative!!

I love both of these ideas to add in some fun color and pattern!!

Fun pillows to bring in more color!!

Such a fun idea...I think my son would just love this!!!

So, those are the ideas I'm liking...obviously in more boy-ish colors, but keep it bright and fun. Who knows how the room will actually turn out though!!
