"I'm okay."

We've all said that phrase many times in our lives haven't we?

But if we were to be 100% honest with ourselves, how many times do we really MEAN it? Sure, we want to be okay and perhaps more accurately we want everyone else to THINK we're okay... but the reality is that sometimes we truly just feel like everything is falling apart.

We're certainly NOT okay.

But, that's not really an option... is it?

In Sheila Walsh's new book, she addresses just that:

We've all experienced that moment where we wish we could start all over again. Failed marriages, lost friends, addictions, lost jobs. This is not the life we imagined. Yesterday can sometimes leave us stuck, sad, shamed, scared, and searching. Sheila Walsh encourages readers to face the pain head on and then start again, from right where they are. She shares that when she discovered "I'm not good enough and I'm good with that," everything started to change.
In It's Okay Not to Be Okay, Walsh helps women overcome the same old rut of struggles and pain by changing the way they think about God, themselves, and their everyday lives. She shares practical, doable, daily strategies that will help women move forward one step at a time knowing God will never let them down.

I feel at some point in each of our lives, we will all really need this book... because life isn't perfect. It's messy, it's complicated. There will come moments in our lives where we all feel not okay.

But with the Instagram society that we live in, we feel like we're not allowed to say that. We're not allowed to be honest even with ourselves. We see these images of perfection filling our lives--- fancy vacations, fancy homes, perfect hair... and we feel as though we are failing if we cannot keep up. Nevermind that these perfect images aren't realistic portrayals of ANYONE's life 24/7... we still want to keep up. To be OKAY.

This book is a much needed reminder that we don't have to pretend. We just have to change the way we think about things. We have to remember that it truly IS okay if we're not okay for now... and that it will get better in time. I love the honesty Sheila Walsh provides in this book. She's not telling us that all we have to do is stand back up and keep going. She's not coming at it from a place of someone who has never felt less than okay. She's coming at a place of having been there herself, and sharing that experience with her readers. To me, that's much better than simply being preached at... it makes you feel less alone.

If you are feeling less than okay, this is an absolute must read. It is available to purchase now at your favorite Christian book retailers.
