Easy DIY Grandparents Day Popsicle Stick Photo Frame

** A huge thank you to Family Christian for sponsoring today's post. All thoughts are my own.

September 13th will be here before know it- Grandparents Day!

Are you still on the hunt for the perfect gift for the grandparents in your life? There are many great options out there- coffee mugs, jewelry, home decor...but in my experience there is one thing that every grandparent loves more than anything else in the world- showing off their grandbabies!!

What better way to do that than with the gift of pictures? To make it even more special, I'm sharing a super simple popsicle stick photo frame that kids can make this grandparents day!

Popsicle Stick Photo Frame

  • Popsicle/Craft Sticks
  • Paint
  • Markers
  • Glue
  • Picture

  1. Start by painting your popsicle sticks however you like. (To save time, you can purchase sticks already colored, but we find painting is half the fun!)
  2. Next, lay out 11-12 popsicles for the back- these should be just slightly shorter than one popsicle stick, so number may vary by stick size. If you have only painted one side of the sticks, make sure the back is facing up.
  3. Take another popsicle stick and apply glue all the way down one side. Glue to the top to hold popsicle sticks together. Repeat at the bottom and allow to dry.

  4. Flip your frame over so you can see the front.
  5. Apply a very thin line of glue along the edges of your photo. Be careful not to get too much to avoid wrinkling. Glue to center or frame.
  6. Now, take one popsicle stick and glue to the top edge of the photo, and another at the bottom.
  7. Repeat for each side of the photo.
  8. (Optional) Now, you can decorate! Use markers to write the grandparents name or a favorite quote. I chose to use Proverbs 17:6- 'Grandchildren are the crown of the aged, and the glory of children is their fathers'. Perfect for grandparents day! You can also add stickers, wooden shapes, etc to make it your own!

  9. Once finished, you can add a ribbon for hanging, or magnets for the fridge!
This fun craft is super easy for kids to do themselves and is sure to be loved by their grandparents too!
