As bloggers, we tend to always put our best foot forward. If we post a picture of our house, we want it to look clean and spotless. But today I am going to be 100% honest with you and say that on any given day, a walk into my home would reveal anything but that picture perfect image we try to portray. The reality is you will instead see a frazzled mom trying to balance time with my kids, blogging and housework. You will see me vacuuming daily trying to keep up with my little mess maker I call my son. If there is one thing that moms know, it's that children know how to make a MESS! In fact, I'm pretty sure that my son has an (invisible to me) neon sign above his head flashing 'Dirt, Follow Me!'. That is the only reasonable explanation! I will have the house clean one minute, and the next a new mysterious mess has appeared...whether it's eating, bringing in dirt from outside or crafting...if there is any possible way to make a mess of any kind, he WILL make it, without fail. Aside from my six year old mess maker, I also have a six month old who doesn't make messes just yet, but sure knows how to get into them when they are there. She's in that stage of not-quite-crawling but still able to get around as she pleases and the stage where anything and everything she can get her hands on will go straight into her mouth...and of course, she goes straight for the messes big brother left behind! Try as I did, my old vacuuming routine just wasn't cutting it. I had one old vacuum that worked well on the rug in our living room and carpets upstairs but didn't do much for the hard floors, another small hard surface vacuum that worked well on those but was only so-so on carpets, and for the stairs...well, let's just be honest they haven't been touched in awhile. To get the best clean, I had to switch out vacuums for each surface to get the job done right. Seriously, who has the time for that!? I knew their had to be a better alternative to fit all of our needs so I headed out to my local WalMart to find it- which I did in the Eureka Airspeed All Floors!
But let's back up to see exactly what it is I needed in a vacuum, and how it fits those needs- Power: As I said, I'm a busy mom...I don't have time to go over the same spot twenty times to make sure its clean. I need something with a powerful suction that maintains suction throughout the entire job and that does the job well the first time. And because my daughter is already showing a tendency towards allergies, we want a vacuum that can remove more dirt and allergens as well.

  • Eureka Airspeed All Floors is a very powerful vacuum, cleaning carpets even better than the Dyson DC41. The Airspeed technology allows for a deeper clean, and the suction remains constant until the job is done! It also features a high effenciency allergen filter, removing more dust and allergens from the air.
You'd never guess I'd just vacuumed the day before!
Versatility: Throughout my downstairs alone, we have carpeting, hard wood and vinyl flooring. I need something that allows me to clean all of these surfaces without having a separate vacuum for each. That just takes way too much time, and not to mention too much space to store them all. I need a one stop vacuum that does it ALL.

  • All Floors- its right there in its title. With soft rubber wheels and the flip of a switch, it provides effortless cleaning regardless of surface...and has just as much power on all of them!!

Stair-Friendly: If you live in a two story home, you know what a pain vacuuming those stairs can be. With my old vacuum, the hose was not very long so I had to lug it up each individual step. I'm not a big person, and this was not an easy job. My other vacuum was much smaller and easy to carry, but the power cord was ridiculously short. As I said, my stairs haven't been touched in awhile, so I needed something to make the job easier.
  • Eureka Airspeed All Floors has a 39 foot total reach: 27 foot power cord, plus 12 foot deluxe stretch hose and extension wand...giving me plenty of slack to get the job done quicker, and without breaking my back! (This is also great for those pesky cobwebs too...no more excuses!!)
Price: We are a single income military family on a budget. We want a powerful vacuum that gets the job done...but we cannot afford a $300 vacuum!!
  • At $98.96 at WalMart, we can get that great clean...without cleaning out our bank account!!

At the end of the day, having a great vacuum isn't going to keep the messes from happening. As my kids continue to change and grow, so will their messes. Today it's crumbs and craft supplies. In time it'll be leftover dirt from the ball field. Or those other random messes that always seem to pop up regardless of age. But regardless of what messes life decides to throw our way, we'll have it covered with Eureka!!

  2. I'm glad you found a vacuum that could handle all of your needs! I can't imaging having a vacuum with a 12 foot hose - I would be able to get EVERYTHING! #client

  3. The stairs! Those are the worst. While we had lived in walk-up apartments before purchasing out home, we never had to worry about vacuuming stairs as we both grew up in ranch style homes or rented one level apartments/houses. I've been using a handheld Dirt Devil which is a huge pain!

  4. Thanks for posting a review on this vacuum. I'm in the market for a new one and have no clue what to get. I want something that REALLY works, not just cleans "enough". This seems like it did pretty well! I'll have to check it out!

  5. That boy is adorable, what a great picture. It's true though, kids do make quite the mess, and finding a vacuum for all of that is important. Really good article! It was really fun to read and actually quite informative. I would have just bought any old vacuum when I move, but that's a lot more to think about, thanks! http://www.statevacuum.com

  6. It is really important to wisely choose the right vacuum that you need in your house. Even with a tight budget, there are still some good vacuums on a lower price. And sometimes, not only do they cost less; they would even perform with the same efficiency as an expensive vacuum. Thank you for sharing some tips on buying the right vacuum cleaner!

  8. Having kids is such a tough job. It’s almost impossible to keep your house clean with kids. I give props to my wife because somehow she keeps the house clean with 2 toddlers. You did a nice job picking out a vacuum on a budget! Hope your new vacuum lasts a long time!
