What Does the Bible Say About Encouragement? #EncouragementDare

When it comes to Bible reading, I am so often a topical Bible reader. If there is an issue I am dealing with, I often search for every possible verse on the topic and take them all in. So, in celebration of the encouragement dare going on with Dayspring and the National Day of Encouragement next week, I was curious to see just what the Bible had to say on the subject!

Today, I'm sharing these with you! Use them in your Bible journaling, share them with friends in need of encouragement, or write a few down to help you remember to share encouragement even long after this dare has ended!

On Encouraging Others

1 Thessalonians 5:11
Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.

Ephesians 4:29
Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.

Hebrews 10:24-25
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

1 Thessalonians 4:1
Therefore encourage one another with these words.

Acts 20:35
In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

Luke 6:31
And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.

Proverbs 17:17
A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

For When You Need Encouragement

Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

2 Timothy 1:7
For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

Psalm 37:4
Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Mark 11:24
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Psalm 34:4
I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.

Psalm 28:7
The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.

Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

Psalm 55:22
Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.

Romans 15:13
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
