Embrace the Mess of #Amazinghood with Dreft {+ A Giveaway} @Dreft #sp

This post and giveaway were made possible by iConnect and Dreft. I was compensated for my participation in this campaign, but all opinions are 100% mine.

Before becoming a mother, do you recall what you expected motherhood to be like?

To be honest, I really had no idea what to expect! I married and started my family young- celebrating my 20th birthday just a few short weeks after my son made his arrival, so I was the first of my friends to experience motherhood firsthand. Of course I'd read What To Expect from cover to cover as so many first time moms do, but can anything truly prepare us for what to expect when we become mothers?

But I quickly learned that motherhood is two things: It's amazing! And it's messy!

Let's start with amazing.

If anyone has ever questioned the existence of love at first sight, they are obviously not a mother. Sure, I might have been told this before having children, but you truly cannot understand the depths of it until you hold your little one in your arms for the first time. And with each passing day that love only continues to grow. From those newborn snuggles to first foods, first words and first steps, we find our hearts growing fuller all the time. Being a mother truly is the greatest thing in the world.

But along with all of those amazing moments come the messy ones too!

And those messes start right from the beginning. There is spit up and snot. There are food messes and dirt as baby grows and explores the world. And of course, there are poopsplosions.

All of the mommies know what I'm talking about, right? Those times when there is just more than the diaper can contain and you find yourself questioning how on earth something so awful could come from something so small and cute. It defies all laws of nature.

One of my son's favorite stories to hear about his baby days is one such incident. He was only a few months old, but already he enjoyed sitting with his daddy and playing video games (a preview of things to come as it turned out). They sat enjoying some father/son bonding time...I even snapped a picture to capture how sweet they looked together. Minutes later, things took a stinky turn. My husband felt something warm. Yes, it was a poopsplosion...perhaps one of the worst I've seen yet! It was out of the diaper. Out of the onesie. All over my husband. What a mess! It was one of those where there really is no other options but to send them straight to the bathtub. Epic.

And of course these things NEVER happen when your little one is in a play outfit, does it? No, it's always the outfit you love. The one you intend to keep for future children or for sentimental reasons- maybe it was the outfit that you brought them home in. The outfit that they looked the cutest in. The outfit that your best friend gave you as a shower gift that perfectly reflected you. You want to relish those moments in years to come, and the last thing you want is crummy ol' stains to get in the way!

Dreft agrees. They believe that laundry is not just any old household chore, but a way that we can look back and reflect on all of those amazing and messy moments through all the stages of babyhood. Perhaps that's why Dreft detergent has been a go to for new moms & dads throughout the years. In fact, it is the #11 baby laundry detergent choice of pediatricians and the #1 dermatologist recommended brand for baby clothes. They are gentle and hypoallergenic on baby's sensitive skin, tough on stains and have a fresh baby scent that will stay with us for years to come and brings us back to those days of babyhood, no matter how old our babies get. With Dreft, we can still embrace the imperfect moments and the messiness that children brings- without keeping the stains around for proof.

Dreft also knows that as babies grow, their laundry needs change too! So, did you know that they offer different varieties to best fit your babies needs? Dreft Stage 1: Newborn is great for those early days when your little one's skin is most sensitive, it provides tough cleaning for all those spit ups whule still being gentle on skin! As baby gets bigger and begins to explore, Dreft Stage 2: Active Baby is specially designed with active babies in mind, tackling food stains and the dirt and grass that babies encounter as they explore their world, but still as gentle as ever!

And when you crave that extra baby smell, Dreft Blissfuls in wash scent booster is ideal. Take a look at these few quick facts:

In celebration of 'amazinghood', Dreft has partnered with The Bachelor's Sean and Catherine Lowe to celebrate their new role as expectant parents and share their beautiful and messy journey. Their parenting journey and partnership with Dreft commenced and their Dreft Loads of Love baby shower on April 27. There they were showered with the love, support and baby essentials (like Dreft) to get them ready to welcome home their new bundle of joy. Like their friends and parents before them, they knew that Dreft was a must have on their registry, with the fresh baby scent making them even more eager for baby to arrive!

But the partnership doesn't end with the shower. Over the next year, we can all share in the Lowe's journey through Amazinghood by following Dreft on Facebook, Instagram & Twitter. Sean and Catherine will be sharing exclusive content and giving us a look at all those amazing and messy moments that babyhood will inevitably bring!
