Galaxy Buck Mission to Sector 9: A DVD Review & Giveaway #FlyBy #GalaxyBuck #HolidayGiftGuide

Calling all Buck Denver Fans!

Last year, my family and I fell in love with a fun series called 'What's in the Bible with Buck Denver'. This fun show was from the creator of Veggie Tales, Phil Vischer and had some of that same silliness that we had come to love from Veggie Tales. But while Veggie Tales took a lot of creative liberties with the Bible stories themselves and focused more on the lessons they taught than being historically and 100% biblically accurate, What's In The Bible actually aimed to help children dig deeper into the Bible by giving them an in depth look at the Bible in a way that they could understand. It did so with some fun characters like the Sunday School Lady, Captain Pete, Chuck Waggin and of course, Buck Denver!

On October 20, Buck is taking off in his all new adventure, Galaxy Buck: Mission to Sector 9.

Buck Denver has a simple dream - to save the galaxy.  Working for the Galactic Mission Board, Buck dreams of carrying God's love to every corner of the Milky Way!  Except he doesn't have a starship.  Or a crew.  Or even a captain's license.  He just needs a chance.  But when that chance comes and Buck finds himself leading a real mission into deep space, things don't go at ALL like he imagined!  If he's doing what God wants him to do, why is everything going wrong?  From VeggieTales® and What's in the Bible? creator Phil Vischer, Galaxy Buck: Mission to Sector 9 is a wild, galactic adventure that teaches kids a powerful lesson about trusting God with everything - even our dreams!

With all the buzz around the new Star Wars film, there has never been a better time to use that love of space travel to get kids interested in learning about God. The fun Star Wars and Star Trek references in this feature are sure to thrill fans young and old. My son remembered right away that there had been references made to Star Wars in the original What's in the Bible Series, and loved that now there was a whole movie! Being a space fan himself, he was beyond excited to watch!! In fact, when I asked him why he loved this show, his response was, "It's half Star Wars, half Star Trek!"

Like all Phil Vischer shows, this one did not disappoint! There was plenty of fun, plenty of silliness, but also a really great lesson to be learned. While we can try to talk to our kids over and over again about topics like trusting God with His plans for us, it can be difficult for them to understand (or just go right in one ear and out the other). Galaxy Buck makes it fun! They'll learn these important lessons, but it won't feel like learning, it'll just feel like FUN! Both of my kids loved this new show and will watch it again and again!
