** A huge thank you to Plant Therapy for sponsoring today's giveaway! All thoughts are my own.

Time for back to school shopping! What's on your back to school list? Mine looks a little something like this:

  • Pencils
  • Crayons
  • Scissors
  • Notebooks
  • Folders
  • Essential Oils
Wait...what? Essential oils for back to school!? That seems a little...unusual!

But here's the deal...they work! From aiding in keeping kids healthy to aiding in their concentration, oils are a great addition to the back to school shopping list.

By now, most of you have probably heard of essential oils. They are everywhere! But just in case you aren't familiar. What is an essential oil? An essential oil is a concentrated hydrophobic liquid containing volatile aroma compounds from plants. Essential oils can be used in diffusers, topically, in the bath, in household cleaners, etc to provide therapeutic properties like calming, energizing, respiratory and more. Essential oils have a large variety of uses and I personally love using them in my home.

One of my favorite companies to order my essential oils from is Plant Therapy. They offer high quality oils at a fraction of the cost than that of other brands. They also offer great deals often AND take safety as a top priority. I truly love this company!

Perhaps my favorite line is the KidSafe Synergies:

Help your child live a happier, healthier life with KidSafe by Plant Therapy. Formulated for children ages 2-10 by aromatherapy expert Robert Tisserand, KidSafe consists of 20 synergies containing 100% pure, undiluted essential oils and 20 pre-diluted roll-on synergies. You can feel confident in knowing that KidSafe by Plant Therapy is the sensible choice for your young children.

Did you know that there are some oils not recommended for children? Oils like peppermint and eucalyptus can present breathing issues in young children! These KidSafe blends take this into consideration and instead use kid safe alternatives to achieve the same effects!

For back to school, there are many great oils to fit your child's needs. Among them are A+ Attention, Germ Destroyer and Nighty Night.

Nighty Night

We all know that getting is good night's sleep is one of the best ways to prepare our kids to be at their best for school. But getting them to settle? That can be rough! This blend of Lavender, Marjoram, Mandarin, Cedarwood Atlas, Patchouli, Clary Sage, Chamomile Roman and Tansy (Blue) is the perfect solution to help your children fall asleep and stay asleep so that they can wake up refreshed and ready to start their day.

For many kids, back to school also means back to sickness! Kids love to share germs, don't they? This fantastic blend of  Spruce, Marjoram, Lavender, Rosalina and Lemon helps to keep kids healthy, and to shorten illnesses when they do happen! Remember how I said that there are some oils not recommended for children? Many similar blends with this purpose contain those oils, so I love that this one truly is safe to use around both of my kids! I can feel good about diffusing this around them...they stay healthy, safely!!

You know what they say about saving the best for last? A+ Attention is certainly that in my household. We actually started using A+ Attention last year. My son is super smart when he focuses on the work at hand, but getting him to settle long enough to get his homework done? That was a true struggle for us! In my research for the perfect oil to help him thrive, I learned that Vetiver seems to be among the top recommended oils for kids on the autism spectrum like my son. So, I hoped this blend of Petitgrain, Bergamot, Cedarwood Atlas, Grapefruit, Lavender and Vetiver would be the perfect solution. Now, I am not going to say that this is a miracle cure...it's not, but it definitely helped my son to concentrate and get his work done. I remember one instance in particular when we struggled for an hour to settle down enough to get any work done, with no luck at all. I simply opened the bottle and waved it around and within a few moments he settled and finished his work for the day! I was amazed! We still use A+ Attention to help with homework and other instances when my son needs that little extra concentration. He loves it, as do I!

These oils truly are perfect for the back to school season to keep kids healthy, rested and calm! But they are not the only great oils for kids and adults available from Plant Therapy. You can see them all and connect at the links below.

And one very lucky reader is going to win a 10 ml bottle of each of the oils I shared today! Enter using the Rafflecopter form below:
