Why I Joined Young Living {& How YOU Can Join For Free Too!}

If you follow me on Instagram, you probably already know that I absolutely LOVE essential oils. The love began a few years back when I started using them to add scent to homemade cleaning supplies and body care products. It didn't take long to become quickly addicted. The more I learned about the amazing properties of essential oils and aromatherapy, the more I wanted to buy more, more, more. And learn more, more, more as well...

In my (quite extensive) research over the past couple of years, one name seemed to be coming up more and more- Young Living. Now, for some Young Living is THE be all, end all of essential oils. They believe that no oils compare and if its not YL, it's just no good. Honestly, I don't believe this at all. They are WONDERFUL oils of course, but my personal collection is made up of all brands of varying price ranges and I love them all. It's not the quality of oils that set Young Living apart for me personally. So, what was it? Let's take a look.

Helping Real People Make Money. As an MLM, Young Living gives real people like myself the opportunity to build their own business. You can build a team, sell the product and actually bring in an income. Making money selling something you love? Sounds pretty amazing doesn't it? I certainly thought so. As most of you know, I am a stay at home mom. Before joining Young Living, my sole source of income was this blog. And with my husband having just got out of the military, it became our only source of actual incoming income (until my husband find a job, of course!) So, having this opportunity to potentially bring in a little extra money for my family at this point in time is much needed. I already use and love oils, so why not?

Making Oils Mainstream. This is perhaps my favorite thing about Young Living. Honestly, when was the last time you saw essential oils on the shelf at your local store? Chances are unless you are shopping at more natural food stores, you won't. And if you're shopping at these stores, you're likely already a bit 'crunchy' anyway. What I have found with Young Living is that people who might otherwise not know about essential oils are being introduced to them, opening a door to leading a more natural life...and that's pretty great isn't it?

With their high quality oils and amazing blends available, these factors had me intrigued with the idea of joining Young Living myself. But there was just one problem...the cost. It was $150 to sign up as a distributor. Now honestly, this is actually an amazing deal...the Premium Starter kit includes over $300 worth of products, PLUS allows you to purchase your oils at wholesale prices. And there was truly no obligation to sell- to remain active, you only need to sell $50 per year...super easy! If you love your oils, it makes the most sense! BUT just because it made sense, didn't mean it was in my budget!
