All About Being A Mom {Mother's Day Extravaganza}

Today in celebration of Mother's Day, I am linking up with Stringtown Home to answer some questions all about being a mom!! Hop on over to link up!!

1)  What is your favorite "Mama Sayin'"?

To be honest, I'm having a difficult time thinking of a 'mama sayin' that I really use all the frequently! I'm not saying I don't use them, as I'm certain I do- I just can't for the life of me think of which ones!!
I do find myself saying, "What am I going to do with you?" quite often when Shaun is up to his silly antics (ahem, ALL. THE. TIME.) Does that count!?
2)  What is one thing that your family expects from you - they couldn't do without you?

Oh my goodness...everything! Cooking, cleaning, changing diapers, getting the little man to sleep...I pretty well do it all!! I think they *could* do it if I wasn't around of course, but they're pretty thrilled that I'm around to help them out...and this Mommy is happy to take care of her boys (and baby girl on the way too!)
3)  When do you have "me" time, and what do you do?

I honestly don't get a ton of me time...if at all. My little man is only in school for about three hours, but that time is usually spent getting work done- cleaning, paying bills, etc. I do usually try to get up earlier in the morning so I have time to get on the computer, check e-mails, read blogs, and all the fun stuff though...we will see how long that lasts after baby comes!!
4)  What piece of your wardrobe do you think screams, "I'm a mama!"?
Hahaha...the maternity clothes!!! Is that too obvious?
Aside from that, I'm not sure if anything else really screams it...I do try to dress pretty comfortably so that I can be active with the little man, but at the same time try to keep fairly fashionable-ish as well.
5)  Name one funny experience that you've had since you've been a mama.

Oh...just one!? Honestly, we've had so many...Shaun is always up to something crazy! Hmmm...okay, here's a fairly recent one- have I ever mentioned that Shaun is 100% boy and loves all things gross? Farts, poops...you name it, he loves it! So naturally, when he farts he wants the world to know...no matter where we are! While gorcery shopping a few weeks back he told everyone we passed, "I farted! I farted!" Thankfully, no one was offended by this and most had a good laugh...one older gentleman even commented, "Well, you gotta let them out or you'll explode!" That's my boy- bringing humor wherever he goes!!
6)  Do you have a weird habit that you've developed as a mama?

I have a lot of weird habits...but none of them as a result of being a mom!
(But I'll admit, I'm guilty of the spit bath as well...sorry kiddo!)
7)  Have you had a moment when you wonder, "How did I get to become a mama?"  (You know... like locking your child in the car with the keys inside?)  What happened?

Hmmm...I'm certain I have had many of those moments- I'm just ever so slightly scatter brained at times (okay, more than slightly). In fact, I'm certain if we did not have keyless entry on our car, I most certainly WOULD have locked him in the car once or twice by now. I can't think of any BIG things off the top of my head at the moment, but I've certainly forgotten to send school papers back in time, walked out to head to school without the backpack, little things like that...oh, I did *almost* forget to pack underwear for Shaun for a weekend out of state to visit family...and let me just say, he's NOT potty trained. Thankfully, I did remember in time! Whew!
8)  What is your favorite thing about being a mom?

My favorite thing about being a mom is having such a wonderful son! He amazes me each and every single day and I still find myself in awe that I was so blessed to have him call me mommy. I love our snuggle time, and watching him learn and grow. I love watching him bring joy to those around him- he's impossible not to love.  He's pretty amazing...and I know that his baby sister will be pretty amazing too. Being a mom is not always easy (especially being a mom to a child with Autism), but it is 100% worth it and I would not trade it for absolutely anything in this world! I love being mommy!

  1. Sounds like you have a little blessing on your hands! :) I love the "WHAT AM I GOING TO DO WITH YOU?!" I say that, too! And, it sounds like our children could have some potty humor laughs together, if they knew each other! haha! We will be praying for that new little one! So exciting!
