A Modern Day Fairy Tale

Faith. Family. Fiction. Fun.

All this talk about LOVE!

With Valentine's Day quickly approaching, love is all around us! Hearts and flowers and chocolates. Everywhere you go, it's unavoidable. Normally I love V-day, but when you're not with the one you love, it can be a little depressing. Today, while on a shopping outing with the little one, I couldn't help but notice all the hearts and the red and pink decor everywhere. And as we sat enjoying a meal at Wendy's, I couldn't help but to think about love and this day. Okay, maybe I was having a bit of an internal pity party. Most people, when talking of Valentine's Day, think of romantic love, of course. Special date nights. Romantic gestures. That's what the day is all about. But you also see other relationships being celebrated- gifts and cards for the friends you love, or from a parent to a child, and even child to parent. There are so many different kinds of love, all unique and important in their ways. And then my mind started going through all the great romance stories, which lead to love songs. (My mind likes to wander!) And as I was sitting there thinking about all this, a song lyric popped into my head, "The simplest of all love songs, I want to bring to you." This reminded me of another type of love, one that all too often gets overlooked during this celebration, one that I had not thought of myself either. And so I would like to leave you with this song, celebrating the greatest of all loves.

"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." 1 Corinthians 13:13
